We talked to young people from 12-18 at the Academy to understand what matters to them. They were concerned that sexual health awareness was no longer being provided at the Academy. It’s so vital to talk to young people because these things drop off the radar for older people.
They flagged a concern we’d hear over and over in our many conversations at at public meetings – the appalling lack of maternity services locally. This has been flagged as a top priority across the board.
Apart from those issues, mostly young people were interested in having more things to do that weren’t pub based.
They were delighted at the prospect of the new Watersports Centre and arts hub at the George Hotel.
