Voting on Place Priorities closed after a month-long consultation on 30 June.

“I was cock-a-hoop to get over 500 responses to our Place Plan consultation,” said Place Plan Manager, Barbara Chalmers.

“It’s notoriously difficult to get people to engage in public consultations because there are lots of them and the content is often a bit dry and complicated. We did a lot of work to break that down, have rich conversations on a one-to-one, in small groups and in public meetings to try and engage the best we could. It obviously paid off because over 500 people took part in the challenge to pick priorities and feedback on the draft Place Plan.

“So it’s heads down now to get stuck into the analysis and find out what the numbers and comments tell us. We aim to get back middle of July with results.”
